ICE, the United States’ modern day Gestapo, has been Trump’s right hand in attacking everyone considered “not one of us” for the american right wings. This includes but is not limited to: latinos, black people, immigrants, asians, the poor, etc.
Most recently however, they have started using Microsoft’s most popular franchise and IP, Halo, as a ad campaign on their posts on twitter:
This, obviously, sparked outrage by fans who know for a fact Master Chief would never support nazis and their minions.
Zero sense Zero shame
In the Halo series, Master Chief, whose real name is John-117, is a Spartan-II super-soldier who initially fights against the Covenant, a collective of various alien species intent on eradicating humanity. However, as the series progresses, it becomes clear that not all aliens are enemies. Master Chief collaborates with alien allies, such as the Elites (Sangheili), during the Covenant Civil War, where they work together to defeat a common enemy, the Flood, and later the Didact in the case of Halo 4.
But of course ICE doesn’t know this. They leech on halo’s army-looking characters to promote themselves as both soldiers and warriors, when in truth they are masked people doing illegal arrests on vulnerable people.
Microsoft
Reached out by users and me personally through e-mail, Microsoft has not made any comments about the usage of their biggest IP as of the writting of this post.
But this isn’t surprising.
Trump has used halo “memes” to try improving his pathetic image this year, and Microsoft remained silent. The company also contributed $1 Million to Trump’s inauguration fund. And recently they also donated to Trump’s new whitehouse ballroom construction.
Microsoft, as many other tech giants did, is decided on bending over to Trump as a way to make more money and have some immunity from regulatory bodies. They are one of many examples of why people world wide have been adopting the #BoycottUnitedStates movement.
