I didn’t expect intel’s new gen to be fast or to innovate at anything, but from rumours and presentations I expected it to at least have much greater efficiency than previous generations, as not to require water cooling and a 1000W PSU to run… and I was disappointed

Tests are showing barely 10% less energy consumption at max load compared to 14k, which could be achieved through undervolting. Performance is within an error margin and apparently drivers and such were barely done as a new update for windows will be out soon(or maybe already is) to improve performance a little.

This launch is even worse than AMD’s 9000. My only expectation was much lower energy consumption(about 20-30% like it was said to be) and even that wasn’t achieved.

Also can we all agree to let UserBenchmark die? https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Intel-Core-Ultra-9-285K/Rating/4173

Saying “he Intel Core Ultra 9 285K averaged 37.9% higher than the peak scores attained by the group leaders. This is an excellent result which ranks the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K near the top of the comparison list.” outside of April Fools is quite sad
