(PayPal) Honey, one of the most popular extensions promoted by multiple youtubers, reaching billions of views in sponsor segments throughout thousands of videos, has been found to be a SCAM.
They allegedly steal money from basically everyone. You, the user, and the affiliate promoting it. All in a clever, quiet manner, replacing cookies at the checkout time to take commissions, and offering no coupons when there are many or worse ones than the ones available.
Now, none of this is surprising, if you look who owns Honey: PayPal.
Paypal has been known to ban people and even whole platforms whenever they feel like it. Not too long ago, gumroad, a MASSIVE platform for buying and selling 3D assets and the such has been suspended from using the payment platform. Why? Nobody knows, but most speculate its because to paypal’s aged-like-milk executives dont like 18+ content. There’s also been the case of paypal trying to pass a policy that’d allow them to fine customers for “spreading misinformation”… with them being judge jury and executioner on what is and isn’t misinformation.
All in all… we need competitors for paypal, and if honey is confirmed to have done all of that, they need to be sued into the ground.
