I thought about making a blog post about this, but honestly routers are such simple devices there isn’t that much to talk about and I’d hate to look around for info on one just to find a wall of useless text.

TL;DR: The Acer Predator Connect W6x, AX6000 is a great router, highly recommend

Longer answer: The router comes with 6 antennas, an ARM quad-core CPU(doesn’t seem much, but its more than 90% of routers nowadays), 1GB of ram(also more than most), and Wi-Fi 6. Those are some great specs and, after testing with 10 devices connected at once, it didn’t disappoint.

I tested it pretty intensively: 8 slimevr trackers, 1 VR Headset and my phone all connected through wi-fi. The slime trackers don’t use much bandwidth, but they send and receive messages a lot(about ~100 times a second each), the headset was streaming at nearly 4k 90fps on a 350Mbps bitrate and finally the phone wasn’t doing much most of the time(just connected for notifications and whatnot).

While my previous router would randomly disconnect trackers and constantly stutter the stream to my headset, as it couldn’t handle the amount of data and frequency, the Acer Predator managed without issues(all I had to do was use QoS to give the headset the highest priority, and trackers the second highest).

Range was overall pretty good, reaching the whole house, even through multiple walls.

Finally price isn’t so bad, I paid about R$650 and now its even a bit cheaper(R$600 on a promo I can see on Kabum)

Overall, highly recommend the router! Best part, it isn’t an american product!
