    It’s dead on arrival.

The XR market is non-existant. Apple’s sales of their XR headset were pathetic and nobody could justify the price, even their most die hard fans. Then in comes samsung with a slightly cheaper one, thinking it’ll change things, but not a single XR-focused device has ever sold much.

When it comes to VR, there are several options, specially for the standalone-specific market. Most popular standalone headset is the Meta Quest 3, followed closely by the Meta Quest 2. They are also the two most popular VR headsets of all, each having double the users of 3rd place(Valve Index). This info is based on steam’s hardware survey.

All of the top 3 is cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy XR. Matter of fact, the quest 2 is almost as cheap as their CONTROLLERS(yes, the galaxy XR DOESN’T COME WITH CONTROLLERS).

Meanwhile the galaxy xr has nothing special as a sales pitch. Is it high quality? Yes. But that alone won’t make anyone pick it over any of the other dozen options.

Specially when they are selling to U.S. and South korea only. Yet another stupid brand sidelining huge markets like Brazil.
