Check if a certain website or server is down for everyone or just you
What is this tool for?
Many times, when a website doesn’t load right away, its not their fault. The internet is a complex system, and sometimes packages(small pieces of information sent between computers) can get lost or be transmitted with error. Certain servers can also be blocking connections from your country or your ISP(Internet Service Provider) could be the one having issues.
This tool helps you bypass all that, by using our servers to check whether or not a certain website or server is really down, or the issue is somewhere else. It is a website down detector.
How does it work?
Whenever you input a value and click “Check”, your browser asks our servers to “ping” that IP/domain once and see if it responds with the correct headers. In case the response seems correct, the page then gets updated with the message “Status: WebsiteX is up”, if not, then “Status: It’s not just you, WebsiteX is down here too”.
What to do if my website is down?
If your website is down or taking too long to respond, you should contact your host’s support and check your admin panel. It could be a temporary maintenance(in which case, check your e-mail and their service status page for information), a slow script running or a problem outside of your control, where the earlier you contact support, the sooner it gets solved.
