This didn’t use to be a big problem, but then the internet became a thing, and every idiot gained the power of voice. And as any idiot with too much belief in their “knowledge” would do when given a microphone, they spoke dumb shit. They spread dumb shit.
Don’t get me wrong: I’m NOT saying everyone is an idiot. If you don’t know anything about a certain subject, congratz, you are a normal person. But if you don’t know, don’t bother looking up(when we have tools like Search Engines and Wikipedia), and give an opinion on it? you are an idiot.
And the internet is full of idiots. LOUD idiots. They’re content creators saying things like “you don’t need Iodised salt” and “vaccines are bad” and “immigrants are to blame for everything” and those imbecile mouth breathers drag other imbeciles into their circles. And none of the imbeciles look up anything before accepting it as truth. They are politicians with their smear campaigns, creating enemies so they can sell a super hero to a super idiot.
You are not immune to it. I’m not immune to it. No one is immune to it. This cancer of misinformation and disinformation is not ever going anywhere and, if you think A.I. will solve it, congratz, you are no longer capable of thinking, you only parrot stupidity that was fed to you, That A.I. is trained on everything it finds online with even less common sense filtering than the average Joe.
So next time you see an idiot speaking their idiocy online? Shame them. Tell them to shut up. Do not share anything they make, down vote, unsubscribe, report their posts. It doesn’t matter if they’re family, a creator you love, or the pope: an idiot is an idiot, and they shouldn’t spread their cognito hazard of an idea under the defense of “its just my opinion bro”.
We already have seen where bad opinions lead: Trump and other far-right politicians in power. Economic disasters. Women and LGBT losing rights. Climate denial in plain 2026 when everyone and their mom can tell the weather has never been this hot. War. Disease.
