Since I moved from Windows to Linux, this is the setup I ended settling with, as it worked best and wasn’t too difficult to use:
- Linux Mint, Latest Kernel (newer kernels usually run games better/faster)
- proton-ge-rtsp: Custom Proton version(only for vrchat, as it makes video players work better than it used to on Windows)
- WiVRn: Similar to Virtual Desktop/Steam Link. Its the best VR Streamer there is.
- WayVR: 2-in-1 Overlay and Play Space Mover, entirely Free.
- VRC-Get: 1:1 replacement for VRChat’s Creator Companion
and that’s it!
My setup:
- Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti
- Ryzen 7 7800x3D
- 2x16GB Ram
- Oculus Quest 2(For now, will move to Steam Frame when its out, fuck Meta/Facebook)
- 3 average SSDs
